Originally from Chicago, Christy's love of fitness and wellbeing began at a young age with sports. As time went on, she grew into an avid runner and self-proclaimed "gym rat". Eventually, the need for stress relief would turn her journey in a more holistic one, involving self-education in natural eating and the beginning of her Yoga practice.

In 2005 when her stressful career as a trader assistant in London became too much for a good run to overcome, Christy began to move more towards Yoga while still maintaining a cardio fitness regime. Upon moving to Hong Kong for 2 years, Yoga became not just her sanctuary but her whole life after her first teacher training in Hatha Vinyasa was completed in July 2007 at YogaLimbs in Hong Kong. This was her turning point in moving towards a career in wellness and health.

Immediately upon completion of her teacher training, Christy began her Yoga teaching journey and has never looked back. In April 2008, she spent a month in Thailand completing a 2nd teacher training, an Ashtanga-based Hatha Yoga certification, with Neil Barker and Paul Dallaghan. Christy has also completed Yoga workshops under David Life, Aadhil Palkhivala, Shiva Rea, Seane Corn, David Swenson, Ellen Heed, Sharath Rangaswamy, John Friend, and many more. Christy is a Yoga Alliance certified Yoga instructor, a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT), and is also trained in meditation, stress management, detoxification, and yoga therapy.

It was then a natural turn in 2010 for Christy to become a well-rounded wellness practitioner. After over 2 years teaching yoga and working in physical therapy clinics with orthopedic patients and sports medicine, Christy has expanded her repertoire to an ACE Pilates Mat certification and a NASM CPT (Certified Personal Trainer). Still an avid athlete, Christy is especially sensitive to those with high stress levels, injuries, and athletic life styles that cause muscular stiffness. Her classes and private instruction will always be filled with positive energy and great music!

Specialties include: therapeutic exercise, pain management techniques, neuromuscular re-education exercises, functional activity exercises, patient education (i.e. ergonomics, posture), and flexibility training. Experience has been mostly in ACL/ varied knee repairs, sciatica, low back pain, rotator cuff repair, plantar fasciitis, and cervical (neck) pain. Such experience has greatly enhanced her abilities as a yoga therapist, personal trainer and Pilates mat instructor.

Christy also sought higher education, taking Human Anatomy, Biochemistry, and more at Northwestern University's School of Continuing Studies in 2008-2009. Christy received her undergraduate degree from Northwestern University in 2004, majoring in Psychology and Environmental Sciences, as well as a Graduate Diploma in International Business from Cambridge in the United Kingdom in 2006. She looks forward to taking many more courses at the university/medical level to enhance her abilities as a wellness practitioner.

In all, Christy truly believes that a combination of styles of training, realistic nutritional advice, and education on stress management that any person or group or people can achieve their goals, no fancy equipment required.

When not on the mat or in the gym, you can find her enjoying her time outside, traveling, reading and attempting her hand at cooking of all kinds.
